NEW : Picture Press, Hamburg - and the G+J PHOTO AWARD 2008 / 2009

Picture Press is a NEW picture agency at GoSee. Founded in 1995, as a subsidiary of Gruner + Jahr, Europe’s largest publisher of newspapers, Picture Press is one of Germany’s most important independent picture agencies.

As a G+J subsidiary, they are able to offer the publisher’s latest pictures and productions. This also applies to the G+J PHOTO AWARD 2008 / 2009. The 2009 winners will be announced at the G+J-Verlagshaus, Hamburg on 27 March.

The competition hosts 12 categories with various themes, which are individually supervised by different partners. The winner is presented with a photo production from their category-partner. This year’s Picture Press supervised category : Commercial-People, the motto is “Lust for Life”.

In 2008 photographer duo KNSY Kniel + Synnatschke won the Commercial-People category prize. The two of them have received positive market feedback, and their first magazine cover shoot for “TV-Hören und Sehen“ in Germany went down a treat. The duo are being internationally marketed through the partner network by Picture Press.

The G+J Photo Award was founded by Gruner +Jahr to provide young photographers up to the age of 35 with support and give them a good start in the media and agency businesses.
