Recom : *recomCGI* on a mission for DAIMLER CHRYSLER

*recomCGI*, a RECOM department has been run by Thorsten Jasper Weese for almost three quarters of a year. The section mainly offers the CGI full service for automobile marketing, from consultation, to *on location* assistance right up to finished rendering and the final post production.

Bettina Krämer, proprietor of *The Mission Group* took over the project management of the James Cook sprinter production in Turkey for shared client DAIMLER CHRYSLER. Briefing, art buying, location research, consultation and coordination of project partners, quality management, budgeting- the whole management project lay in her hands.

The *recomCGI* delivered the required *tools* to the CGI production and so Thorsten was able to travel to Turkey with his own CGI equipment (Spherocam HDR, previsualization-software, Laptop, etc.) and photographer Rainer Stratmann. It was *on location* that he perfected high resolution HDR-scans and the pre-arranged layout positioning of the vehicles.

The layout for the motifs, which had already been released for access in Turkey, was then converted with Rainer's help at the *recomCGI* final in Stuttgart. Thanks to the use of Maya (3D-software) and the help of compatible Spheron components, they were just in time for the finalization process in the RECOM post production. Attached is a small extract of the making of this production and the individual construction of the motifs and furthermore examples of CGI's involvement.
