ANGELIKA BOOKS LAUNCH • Backstage by Anna Bauer - the definitive who's who of the fashion circus glitterati as published by Angelika Books
The book shows the wannabe-personalities of the hyper-hyper-fashion world in the first decade of the 21st century. It could almost serve as a handy guide to the fanatic fashionable bird-watcher.
German photographer Anna Bauer, who lives in New York, used a heavy large-format camera to portray the fashion folks backstage during shows in Paris, Milan, London and NY.
Anna grew up in the Marburg area. She moved to New York in 2002, where she graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Photography. She photographed for Brandeins, Die Zeit, Interview and W.
Fabien Baron's minimalist book design constitutes the perfect frame for the reductionist black & white Polaroids. Fabien Baron is considered one of the most influential art directors of his generation and has created and worked for many fashion labels and luxury brands over the last 20 years, including Calvin Klein.
Tim Blanks wrote the book's introduction. The fashion critic was the host of the international TV-series Fashion File. He works as editor-at-large for Style.com and maintains regular columns for Vogue, GQ, Fantastic Man and Interview.
