Gestalten is proud to announce the first solo show of their well-known American artist Mark Jenkins, who has the tendency to use sticky tape and create life-size human and animal forms
Mark is famous for his installations – ranging from shockingly vivid tape sculptures in an urban setting as well as the surprising pop-up installations in cafés, toilets, galleries and so forth.
His human figures in particular provoke a wide range of various reactions from passers-by and the sculptures are inevitably becoming a performance piece.
Glazed Paradise will include new sculptures, which have been especially created for the show and constructed by Mark Jenkins in Berlin.
On the 19th of January, on the day of the grand opening, they will be presented to the public, accompanied by a small, limited run of tape sculptures.
In addition to the sculptures, the solo exhibition also includes photographs of course.
Last but not least, the book 'The Urban Theater: Mark Jenkins” will be available during the exhibition in a limited signed edition as well as in the Gestalten Shop.
