Natalie Portman - very bohemian for the February issue of ELLE UK, rude words for INCREDIBAD - and no to meat and dairy
Actress Natalie Portman presents her dark, yet restrained side in an editorial titled ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, published in the February issue of ELLE, UK.
David Slijper photographed the actress, born Natalie Hershlag, on 9 June 1981, Jerusalem. Sasa Thomann carried out the styling.
The Israeli-American actress adopted her grandmother’s surname of Portman at the start of her career.
She first became popular in 1994, in her role as Jean Reno’s sidekick in ‘Leon’, at the tender age of 13. Films including Heat, the Star Wars Trilogy and V for Vendetta followed this.
Despite her work on Star Wars, she graduated from high school in 1999 and studied Psychology BA at Harvard University, which she graduated from in 2003.
Since her split from folk singer Devendra Banhart in 2008, Natalie has been single, still not a reason to panic – she managed to cheer herself up, as well as us, with great films.
She is set to grace the silver screens in the role of Jane Foster, a nurse and the greatest love of Thor, the Germanic god. Take note, this is in the time, when he is banished to us ‘normal’ people on earth.
The relatively unknown actor Chris Hemsworth plays the role of Thor, dramatic mastermind Kenneth Branagh carries out the direction of the comic movie adaptation. Filming has just commenced, the cinema date is already set in stone : 19 May 2011.
Also worth knowing : Natalie raps on the ‘Natalie’s Rap’ track on the ‘Incredibad’ debut album by The Lonely Island American comedy group. The album was released on 10 February 2009.
In the track she gives a fictional interview and answers questions with an excessive use of swearwords. Bad girl ! Definitely worth checking out.
Oh yes, and in 2009 she switched over from Vegetarianism to Veganism. All thanks to Jonathan Safran Foer of Eating Animals, who managed to convince her to quit eating all animal products immediately.
