The Brooklyn based reportage and film stills specialised photographer shot both the set photos and poster images for the LUDWIG II feature film, now showing in cinemas in Germany. Photographer Stefan FALKE returned to Baja California on the US Mexican border to shoot more material for his ‘Artists Along the Border’ project. The photographs were taken in Tijuana, Tecate and Mexicali. During this time he was also asked to show his work at La Casa Del Tunel: Art Center in Tijuana and in addition to this he held a four day workshop for local photographers. The border separating Mexico and the United States stretches from Imperial Beach, California and Tijuana, Baja California, to Matamoros, Tamaulipas in the west and Brownsville, Texas in the East. The borderline crosses all sorts of terrain, including large areas of settlement, but also deserts that are hostile to all forms of life. Stefan Falke stayed in Bavaria and Austria to the end of 2011. He photographed the set photographs and marketing motifs for 'Ludwig II', a film by Peter Sehr and Marie Noelle for Warner Bros and Bavaria Pictures. The photographs are still under lock and key, but a series with the main lead protagonist Sabin Tambrea was produced during the shoot. The film will hit the cinemas by the end of 2012.
