Birgit Paulat, Head of Art Buying BBDO Duesseldorf presents the ALZHEIMER campaign awarded in Cannes, is supporting the GoSeeAWARDS 2018 as a juror and looks forward to inspiring submissions

We are very delighted that Birgit Paulat, Head of Art Buying at one of the largest advertising agencies in Germany, is supporting us this year in the jury of the GoSeeAWARDS. For several years, she has supported domestic and international clients for BBDO Duesseldorf and takes care of the perfect visual realization from planning to coordinating the shoot. She not only knows her stuff – she lives and breathes photography.

The GoSeeAWARDS call upon on all photographers, illustrators and CGI artists again in 2018 to submit their best works of the year free of charge. The prize? A screening by a jury made up of the most renowned art buyers & art producers, creative and brands. "I look forward to discovering new talents but also to seeing personal works by well-known photographers," Birgit tells GoSee. The winners will be announced just like every year at UPDATE18!BERLIN.

As an example of a great creation that gets the job done, she presents us the latest ALZHEIMER campaign by Proximity Worldwide and BBDO Düsseldorf, which depicts in impressive images how the daily life of a patient suffering from Alzheimer turns into an insolvable puzzle when the memory irretrievably disappears piece by piece.

The two agencies, inspired by artist Alma Haser, designed four portraits as a jigsaw puzzle which can no longer be put together. Stefan Kranefeld Imaging took care of photography and post production. From the perspective and the eyes of an Alzheimer patient, the ad portraits show how even the closest of family are no longer recognized, how perception increasingly slips away, and the environment becomes a single tragic riddle.

The emotional campaign – which just took home Silver and Bronze at Cannes Lions 2018 – was conceived and realized for the Alzheimer Research Initiative aimed at generating donations supporting research into a cure. Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e. V. (AFI) is a supraregional non-profit organization based in Düsseldorf. The initiative, which was founded in 1995, is the largest independent and private sponsor of Alzheimer's research in Germany. alzheimer-forschung.de
