I’m Evelyn Karbach. Based at Salzburg, Austria and Munich, Germany, backstage and onstage at home all over the world. 

Am I an artist? Well, I rather see myself as an artisan. I literally create my looks by hand because I work mainly with my fingers, be it on skin or hair. The transformation process that takes place when I start working on a bare face and undone hair fascinates me. 

Good techniques paired with product knowledge allow a play with proportions, textures and colors. Often a great result needs a certain restrained take – subtlety is key – but sometimes you just have to push it. In case of doubt I always opt for the most daring red! 

For me there is no regular working week, but when I can spare the time I’m off to the mountains – no make-up, no glamour, no nonsense! Time out makes my time in (the job) more effective and keeps my work fresh. My job may be stressful at times, but I keep my cool and flash a smile. I love what I do, it’s an amazing adventure!
