Emily Shur’s singular style connects her diverse portfolio, mixing vibrant color and personality with strong conceptual storytelling. Whether shooting portraits of well-known celebrities and athletes, everyday newsmakers, or fashion spreads for top designers, Emily’s work celebrates unique characters and their memorable charms. Her long-term exploration of Japan’s extraordinary landscapes is now a self-published collection, titled Playground. Emily’s client list—including HBO, Amazon, Netflix, Chrysler, Dodge, KFC, Samsung, Booking.com, Nike, Adidas, Universal Pictures, Bravo, NBC, CBS, Fox, Toyota, Sprint, Maxwell House, Dell, Secret, HTC, Head & Shoulders, Sara Lee, American Express, and MTV—matches her diversity. Emily won The Art Director’s Club 2005 Young Guns global competition, and has been selected for six American Photography editions (22, 24, 25, 26, 31, and 32). She was part of the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize exhibition at London’s National Portrait Gallery, and Humble Art’s 31 Women in Art Photography exhibition. Emily’s home base is a 105-year-old house in Los Angeles, shared with her husband and their dog, The Baroness.
