Advertising • VODAFONE 'The End of Voice Dictatorship' commercial, filmed by Director Marc R. Wilkins c/o 1ST UNIT in Odessa/Ukraine

21.09.2017 • Director Marc R. WILKINS filmed the VODAFONE commercial 'Revolution' for the agency Tobasco in Kiev. The film was shot in Odessa. The leading role is played by actress Onuka, who symbolizes the new Post Revolution Ukraine. Onuka appeared as the main act at the last EuroVisionSongContest. This project marks her first film role.

Marc R. WILKINS tells us about the commercial : "I have had the privilege of directing commercials all over the world for a while now. This gives me the chance to look for the most interesting scripts in countries I love to be. That said: to direct Vodafone-Voice with Onuka in Ukraine was incredibly attractive to me. The script itself, the theme of revolution, the collaboration with the most iconic contemporary artist of Ukraine made me not hesitate for a second. I am a child of hippies; I was raised on demonstrations and protest-camps. I was engaged in fighting the “grey”, opposing the “monotony”, questioning “blind obedience” throughout all my life. The dominating statement of the spot: Don't take everyday stress situations too seriously and try to make the most of them. "This can be somewhat unconventional at times. In the end, it's not about what others think of you, but about having more fun in our daily lives," says Senior Brand Manager Sonja van Daelen. The commercial for the new candy bar spot is planned to be broadcast in the UK and the Middle East following its launch in Germany and Austria.
