Sandrine & Michael c/o ANDREA HEBERGER photographed for FINANCIAL TIMES magazine 'How To Spend It'. The spread and particularly the very imaginative set pay tribute to artist Dorothea Tanning, one of the first surrealists.
Autodidact Dorothea Tanning was an American painter, sculptor and author who also designed props and costumes for ballet and theater. Dorothea Tanning was married in 1946 to German artist Max Ernst (his fourth and last marriage). They celebrated a double wedding in Beverly Hills; as a matter of fact, with Man Ray and Juliet Browner. Dorothea died at the age of 101 in New York, to where she had moved after Max Ernst passed at the end of the 1970s. Her second book of poetry entitled 'Coming to That' was published in fall 2011. Photographer Cade MARTIN c/o ANDREA HEBERGER on his project : "I shot the Luchadores on a rooftop in L.A. They carried themselves with such confidence and with an obvious pride in the tradition of Lucha Libre. Some of the older wrestlers maintained their character – in masks – from the moment they parked their car... I loved every second of this shoot."
Lucha Libre (Spanish for free-style fight) is a form of professional wrestling which was developed in Mexico. Lucha Libre goes back to the early 1930s, when Salvador Lutteroth brought American wrestlers he had seen in Texas with him to Mexico. A person who practices Lucha Libre is called a Luchador or Luchadora. The rules are similar to those in American wrestling. Matches are won by pinning the opponent to the mat until the referee counts to three, by forcing the opponent to give up, when the opponent is outside the ring (referee counts to ten), or by disqualification.

The project shows a sporty urban lifestyle based on the topic of running and jogging in a location characterized by urban architecture, concrete and graffiti – giving it a bit of downtown flair. The movements of the sports models working as a team and having fun combined with the sportswear make for a young, trendy lifestyle look paired with feelings of friendship, health and happiness.
