Photographs from Wolfram Ruoff's Pure Line series will be shown from the 2nd of April to the 22nd of May at the New York Sous Les Etoiles Gallery. The solo exhibition will open on the 2nd of April from 6pm to 9pm in the gallery.
The travels of the artist and architect are always connected with long and intense walks crossways through cities, which lead them to new and interesting places. Wolfram Ruoff absorbs these new places in order to capture their versant and intimate outlines. A city's appearance is a complex story.
“I think in form and line. I am trying to understand people, while I observe their interactions and how they react to architecture. There is something that deeply impresses me.”, so the photographer.
Wolfram Ruoff works with an abstraction of two dimensional pictures, expressing light and depth by using technical lines.
Born in Munich, Wolfram Ruoff began his career as a constructor at Workshop Union, subsequently studies architecture at the TU Munich and has been merging architecture and photography ever since 1993.
