Creativity = capital – is how the Art Directors Club Switzerland presents the ADC Awards 2018 and awards 4 Gold and 2 Evergreens at a rocking Gala in Zurich. 134 leading creatives of the Swiss communications industry have selected the best works as jurors under ADC President Frank Bodin. The occasion for the event was provided by the Creative Week, which took place in cooperation with the Zurich University of the Arts at the Toni areal. The program with world-class key note speakers such as Stefan Sagmeister, Jonathan Lee from Google, rock guitarist Henning Rümenapp from the Guano Apes, Zélia Sakhi, master counterfeiter Wolfgang Beltracchi and many others inspired the enthusiastic audience.

The ADC evaluates the fact that the number of agencies and clients who submit works has jumped from 79 to a record of 94 as a very positive sign. The importance of creativity in our digital society was also a big topic of the Creative Week. ADC President Frank Bodin tells us: "The new technological achievements like Big Data, Programmatic Advertising, Blockchain, etc. all fascinate us – nevertheless, the discussion about content and quality of communication should not be forgotten. Without creativity, there is no culture. Without creativity, no future. Creativity is and remains the capital of humanity."

A decision by the jury always entails deciding where the industry stands and is a creative process in its own right. The best works are beacons which clients and creative newcomers can use for orientation. Looking back on the year 2017, several outstanding works at international level were created: 13 Silver, 4 Gold and 2 Evergreens (which are considered gold) are the results of the communication industry in 2017. Plus, the "Student of the Year" award, which this year went to Miriam Brack for the work "That Way to the Left".

Awarded gold in the category Film "Safer-Sex-Check" (client: Federal Office of Public Health, agency: Rod Kommunikation) was" – spots that communicate a sensitive topic with innuendo in no uncertain terms. In the category Ads "Trump's Thoughts" (client: Verlag No & But, agency: walker Agency AG) – a fascinating ad in the FAZ.

Awarded an Evergreen (considered to be good as Gold) was The Zurich Chamber Orchestra and Havas AG. The fact that communication for a classical orchestra is anything but dusty and that it too can trigger "big emotions" with the right claim has been demonstrated by the award-winning campaigns for the ZKO for 11 years. The advertising motifs of CARIOCA STUDIO c/o GoSee Member VISUALEYES ARTISTS just recently caused quite a stir.

Still life photographer Niklas ALM c/o VISUALEYES ARTISTS and TBWA Zurich were awarded double Bronze for McDONALD's HAPPY MEAL. A further artist from the Swiss agency VISUALEYES was the center of attention that evening. Vali Petridean illustrated a skull motif for the ADC slogan "Cubes & Roses" – and Natalija Fallocca-Bajric c/o VisualEyes had it printed on T-shirts and business cards. Creativity rules!
