There are more than enough reasons for a trip to Paris. We can let you in on one more: PAD PARIS, the trade fair for "international art and design enthusiasts and collectors". It just took place, and that for the 23rd time now, at Paris' Jardin des Tuileries where more than 70 exhibitors presented modern art, historical and contemporary design, jewelry, primitive arts as well as art of living... and lots, a really tremendous amount of mirrors in all shapes and sizes.
PAD Paris on the event: "PAD Paris invites us to discover the eclectic universe of a sharp selection of French and international gallery owners, to whom it offers an intimate setting, like a vast cabinet of curiosities. PAD Paris offers an audience of enthusiasts an exceptional journey through the creation, but also between the specialities and personalities of the gallery owners. Marie-Laure Jousset, Honorary Chief Curator of Design at Centre Pompidou and President of the Jury OF PAD Paris, will be surrounded by the best collectors, curators, architects and decorators who are passionate about design to award the Stand Prize, the Contemporary Design Prize and the 20th Century Design Prize."
This year, we particularly liked – all works on display are curated in advance – was the booth of Galerie LUCAS RATTON with Director Clemence Chevallier (see several works at the end of the article, and the description of the work can be found directly on the picture). And that's not just because the gallery focused on African primitive art skillfully integrated the works of hip artist Nicolas Lefebvre into their program. The boy friend of Monica Bellucci is the darling of today's scene. He cleverly combines objects and breathes new life into them in a refreshingly unfamiliar context. So it was no surprise that the power couple, which everyone in Paris is currently talking about, visited the gallery's booth.
