Landscape as museum – an unusual cycling tour presents landscape photos around the city of Venlo until the 2nd of September.
The ELDERS AAN DE MAAS cycling tour (somewhere else on the Maas) actively invites viewers to ‘experience’ large format landscape photos with a bicycle.
The tour’s 40-kilometre route opens up new views on the subject of landscape between romantic idyll and sober reality, which illustrate and critique our conceptions of ideal innocent nature.
VVV Venlo has also cunningly created an arrangement with culinary distractions exclusively for ELDERS AAN DE MAAS. Click here for more information: www.liefdevoorlimburg.nl
The photographers are Thomas Wrede (D), Peter van Beek (NL), Wout Berger (NL), Reinout van den Bergh/ Huib Fens (NL), Nico Bick (NL), Sonja Braas (D), Kevin Erskine (US), Stella Faber (NL), John Goto (UK), Nick Hannes (B), Roderik Henderson (USA/NL), Rob Hornstra (NL), Marcus Koppen (NL), Michael Reisch (D), Martin Roemers (NL), Tim Simmons (UK), Andrea Stultiens (NL) and Raimond Wouda (NL).
ELDERS AAN DE MAAS is a project by artist initiative ‘Stichting Dommel in Beeld’ (Ank van Engelen, Fieke Barten en Marc Volger/curator Patricia van der Lugt), which was taken up by the city of Venlo.
