Director: Stéphanie Di Gusto
Cast: Lou Doillon, Gonzales
This coming summer will not just be a very pleasant welcome to the prolonged chilly months but also very French. ‘Le bel été’ dances in our heads, gets our toes tapping and can and has to be a bit melancholic. When model and actress Lou Doillon flutters through the room in tune to the piano notes of Gonzalez, designer Vanessa Bruno has brought a new collection to life.
The designer grew up with fashion and later blossomed to create her own designs. She has known exactly what she wants since 1999 and nurtures spirit, taste and a ‘francaise’ collection with polished elements of tailoring.
Lou Dillon, daughter of French director Jacques Dillon and English singer Jane Birkin and stepsister to Charlotte Gainsbourg and photographer Kate Barry, beautifully presents the designs.
This fashion film was directed by Stéphanie Di Gusto, who has to date captured several of the designer’s collections as video installations and animated look books. The director formerly known as Paf le Chien, who works for commercial clients such as Orange and France 5, studied at two renowned art schools; ENSAD ‘Les Arts Décos’ and Penninghen.
Besides specialising in film, which Partizan represent her for, the French creative also feels at home with photography and art direction. Her art-related references include Francesca Woodman, Kiki Smith, Harry Callahan and Dolorès Marat.
Merci, Vanessa, Lou & Stéphanie !
