Irish, Berlin-based Colin Taplin won the HATTO for the Best Interior and Set Design. The “Angst” (fear) spot was produced by Film Deluxe film production, Berlin, and Scholz und Friends Berlin GmbH.

The spot is aimed at encouraging CO2 clean-ups of the home – and it doesn’t leave a single fashion or trend out from the past 100 years, so as to encourage viewers to take action. A real challenge for Colin – but it didn’t scare him off, as the great results go to show.

Colin has worked as a production designer since 2003, he had previously worked as a stylist from 1999 – 2003. He was born in Bangor, Wales and graduated in Fashion Design in 1991.

Colin was the man with the biggest fan club at the awards – whenever his name was mentioned the crowd would cheer – proving that advertisers aren’t always too cool to develop a personality.

We also like Colin – if we were talent judges on a TV show he would most certainly be in our next round – the same goes for Kataharina Strauss c/o Film Deluxe, who was just as excited about the award and partied hard at the Saatchi after party with her friends Julien Peltier and Rolf Scheider.

Those of you that are just itching for more of Colin’s work would best be advised to check out his website: COLIN TAPLIN.
