'Entertain and Excite' – goes the design philosophy of Lorand Lajos c/o les ARTISTS by Josef Stockinger. And if he is in the mix, streetwear turns into couture, and celebrities turn into goddesses. He creatively combines style with couture and art. His fans and those who wear his looks include Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Helene Fischer and Dita von Teese. Madonna chose his design for the crystal masks worn by dancers in her video "Living for Love" and her world tour. GoSee is delighted to present the designer genius.
Lorand is an autodidact whose multifaceted work is rooted in fashion and art. The native of Transylvania started his career as an assistant to top stylist Ton Khanmnuanseang in Bangkok where he learned the basics of fashion and communication. Back in Munich, he worked as a stylistic consultant and decorator for the fashion house Maendler. As a procurer and ultimately as a sales manager for Flip Munich, he visited Fashion Weeks throughout Europe.
Afterwards, he switched to craftsmanship and learned the fine details of making accessories and gowns for clients such as Givenchy on the team of Paris haute couture studio Lemarié. It was a great honor for him to realize the last original design of the late Alexander McQueen; he designed the collar of the feather coat that went down in fashion history as McQueen's "Golden Angel" and was on display at the "Savage Beauty" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.
As a stylist, his fashion alphabet ranges from classic looks and putting products for companies such as Rolls Royce and Swarovski front and center to poetic styles for magazines including Vogue and Elle or even daring looks for video clips and stage outfits that make the personality of musicians and stars shine.
With his extensive wealth of experience, he has been designing collections for his label ATELIER LORAN LAJOS – since 2011 – a design company for wearable street-/clubwear, unusual accessories and extravagant couture with it-pieces between fashion and art.
His sensational works touch the heart and soul because they unite opposites: cool masculinity and passionate femininity, radiant elegance and dark fetish, geometric silhouettes and romantic materials.
Lorand's communicative personality, his enthusiasm and charm are a pleasure at his live performances and for TV cameras. At heart, Lorand is the visionary designer who creates unique imagery, fashion and artwork with a reliable intuition for the object, product and brand image. He finds the iconic form whose aesthetics outlast trends and generations without flinching an eye.
