We are delighted to welcome Michael Schnabel as a GoSee premium member. A landscape photographer at heart, he is in demand today in the areas of transportation, people, landscape, and motion images. His fine art landscape photos and commercial projects have brought him both domestic and international awards, including AOP Gold, ADC Gold, the PDN Annual Award, and the BFF Annual Award. Lürzer’s Archive has counted him among the 200 most important advertising photographers for some time.
Michael Schnabel, born in 1966, studied photography in Darmstadt. During his time in San Francisco, he began to combine his passions for landscapes and photography. Whether deserts, high mountains or big cities – he turns just about any environment into a stage. A skillset international clients such as Audi, BASF, Sony, Siemens, Random House, Marlboro, and a long list of agencies have grown to love. He has worked in the US for several years, where he rocked the LA transportation market.
He developed a new visual language for FORD in 2013 with Creative Director Oliver Micklitz / GTB, which set the bar in for transportation imagery. In 2016, he closely collaborated with LEXUS. Thanks to complete creative freedom, the result was inspiring, often referenced images.
With his series of works entitled ‘Silent Mountains’, he lifts the motif of a mountain panorama out of the spectrum of what has ever been seen before. Viewers feel more than they see. The result is an inner landscape instead of the mere perception of an outer one. ‘Silent Mountains’ is part of several collections. In Bergisel Museum in Innsbruck, his works are on display in the permanent collection (number of visitors: 80.000/year).
He is represented on international juries, has been offered a chair as lecturer by several universities and has group and solo exhibitions in Europe, China and the US. We present you a glimpse at his portfolio, plus there are more than 1500 photos by the photographer on GoSee and many more under MICHAEL SCHNABEL. And there’s lots more news about Michael to come right here on GoSee.
