Only four people are alive who have landed on the Moon, one of which is Charles Duke (born 1935 in Charlotte, North Carolina), astronaut of the Apollo 16. SCANDERBEG SAUER portrayed the former space pilot, who spent about 20 hours on the lunar surface as part of three Moon walks in April 1972 during the fifth manned Moon landing.
“It was such an honor to meet and portray Charlie Duke for The Telegraph magazine – a lunar special coverage to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing by Apollo 11. Duke served on five Apollo missions including as CAPCOM for Apollo 11. As one of the crew of Apollo 16, Duke landed on the moon, becoming the 10th and, at the age of 36, youngest astronaut to walk on the lunar surface.”
