#ADIDASPARLEY ADIDAS is bringing a sneaker on the market made of recycled plastic from the ocean. It is manufactured from Parley Ocean plastic, which is processed into yarn. For more than a year, the two brands tried and tested it, and the result is not only a interesting from an environmental perspective. Richard Johnson c/o EMEIS DEUBEL photographed the high-performance running shoe in Cape Town on commission for TBWA Neboko, Amsterdam. Adidas has made it its goal to ban plastics almost completely from its supply chains and to use only processed waste from the ocean instead.
"Designed from upcycled waste from beaches and coastal communities, intercepted before it reached the ocean, the new shoes are part of a wider campaign from Adidas to reduce plastic pollution, and the sports brand is working with US non-profit Parley to help reset the way the global community treats our sacred oceans."
